Terms of service
0. Who these terms are for
We work only for businesses: companies and self-employed people buying for their business. We don't sell to consumers. These terms apply to every commission and form part of the contract together with the quote you confirm. If the quote and these terms differ, the quote wins. By confirming a quote that refers to these terms, you accept them.
1. Quotes
Every commission starts with a written quote by email: scope, formats, length, revision rounds, delivery date and price. A quote is valid for 30 days. The commission is agreed when you confirm the quote in writing.
Voiceover is produced in-house and may use a synthetic (AI) voice made with a licensed commercial voice service; the quote states which voice is used. A synthetic voice is not exclusive to you: the same or a similar voice may be used by others, and we don't guarantee copyright protection for it. We don't imitate or clone the voice of a real person without that person's written consent, and we don't make films with a synthetic voice for political campaigns or for ads that are deceptive or falsely suggest someone's endorsement. A human voice actor is available on request at the actor's fee plus €90.
2. Payment
50% of the price is invoiced on confirmation and is due before work starts. The remaining 50% is invoiced on delivery of the final files. Invoices are due within 14 days. Prices are in EUR; for clients in the Czech Republic they can be quoted and invoiced in CZK. We are not registered for VAT in the Czech Republic (neplátce DPH), so we don't add Czech VAT. For business clients in another EU country, any VAT due is accounted for by the client under the reverse charge. Bank charges on your side are paid by you.
3. Preview cuts
A preview cut is a short, watermarked sample made free of charge so you can judge the style. It carries no licence for use, and there is no obligation to commission anything.
4. Revisions
The quote states the number of revision rounds. A round is one consolidated list of changes. Small fixes such as copy, prices or colours don't use up a round. Changes beyond the agreed scope, or extra rounds, are quoted separately before we do them. To keep the delivery date, send each round within 10 working days of receiving a draft. An extra round costs €90 for a clip up to 20 seconds and €150 for a longer film.
5. Your materials
You confirm you have the right to let us use the screens, designs, logos, music and other materials you give us for the film.
6. Licence
On full payment you receive a non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual licence to use the delivered films for your business for any purpose, including paid advertising: to publish, reproduce and show them, and to edit them (for example re-cut, resize or add subtitles). You may let your affiliates and agencies use them for you. The licence fee is included in the price. Third-party elements such as licensed music, sound effects, fonts and synthetic voices follow their own licence terms, which we list in the delivery; you may use them only inside the film, not separately. Source files and project code are delivered only if agreed in the quote; the project is built with Remotion, and a team of more than three people that wants to run it needs its own Remotion licence. Until full payment, no licence is granted.
7. Portfolio
We may show the finished film, and stills from it, in our portfolio and on social media once it is public, unless you ask us not to in writing before the commission starts.
8. Delays and cancellation
Delivery dates depend on receiving your materials and feedback on time. If you cancel after work has started, the first 50% is non-refundable and covers the work done.
8a. Retainer
A Retainer runs for at least 3 months and then month to month until either side ends it by email with 30 days' notice. It is invoiced monthly in advance; the first invoice is issued when you confirm the quote. Each month includes the number of credits stated in the quote. Unused credits roll over one month and then lapse. Credits are not refunded or paid out.
9. Liability
Our total liability for any commission is limited to the price paid for that commission, except where the law does not allow such a limit (for example, damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence).
10. Law
These terms and every commission are governed by Czech law, without its conflict-of-law rules and without the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. Any dispute goes exclusively to the Czech court that has jurisdiction for our registered office in Prague 4.
