Node-RED product film: Press Deploy and the wires light up.

Node-RED lets people wire devices and online services together as flows on a canvas. A finished flow sits still on the screen. What matters happens after you press Deploy, so the film shows messages travelling down the wires as pulses of light, a bit like current.

f.0420 / the idea

The idea.

The editor is the real Node-RED, run locally with a fictional smart-office flow.

Sound

  • Electric whooshes follow the wires, so the flow sounds powered before anything is deployed.
  • Deploy gets the most weight in the film: a tap, a bass hit and a success sound.
  • Music is a licensed driving house track, kept low under the voiceover.

Formats

16:9 and 9:16 from one project. The type and camera moves are laid out again for the narrow frame, and the end title sits in the middle of the screen.

Still from the OVERSHOOT film about Node-RED, vertical cut at 0:18.2: Vertical end title, "Low code. High voltage."
